Michele Nolta, CTRS has consulted to skilled nursing facilities since 1986 and has written five MDS coded documentation books since 1993. She has studied the MDS 3.0 development for six years since her participation in a CMS “MDS 3.0 Decision Tree” phone conference in 2004. She attended CMS’ 5-day Train-the-Trainer in Las Vegas in August 2010. Michele has been requested as a speaker on MDS 3.0 topics for state and national conferences including ATRA, the American Therapeutic Recreation Association, CAHF, the California Association of Health Facilities and the California Culture Change Coalition. She is a consultant for nursing homes and person-directed care organizations.
